One of the big ticket unveils at the 2024 EICMA motorcycle show has been leaked prior to its official unveiling. The Aprilia Tuono 457 was long expected ever since the RS 457 made its debut last year. The Tuono 457 is the naked version of the same and adopts a styling which is very different from large displacement Tuono models.
The headlight design is very different as the LED unit gets large LED DRLs on either ends. The fuel tank shape is also slightly different as it looks sharper, while there is a small body panel next to the frame with the Tuono branding. The tail section and the split seat is similar to that of the RS 457. So is the TFT screen but on the naked bike it’s exposed. The big change is the riding posture as the clip-on bars have been replaced with a conventional unit and the riding posture looks sporty but more upright than its faired sibling making the Aprilia Tuono 457 more comfortable.
Powering the bike will be the same 457 cc, parallel-twin engine as seen on the RS 457 churning out 47.5 bhp and 43.5 Nm. The 6-speed gearbox will be carried forward but it will be interesting to see whether the bi-directional quickshifter comes as standard or not. The frame too is the same and so are the suspension and braking components. We expect the Aprilia Tuono 457 to go on sale in India by early 2025 and it will compete against the KTM 390 Duke and the TVS Apache RTR 310. As for pricing we expect the new Aprilia motorcycle to be priced under ₹4 lakh (ex-showroom)
