Powered by the same 1,350 cc V-twin motor as the 1390 Super Duke R, the new 1390 Super Duke GT sits on a slightly different frame, with added features for better comfort.
Alongside unveiling the new range of 390 Adventure bikes, KTM also took the wraps off its latest flagship sport touring motorcycle, the 1390 Super Duke GT. It carries forward the same proposition as being the brand’s ultimate sports tourer. Moving forward bike will feature a bigger engine, boast a new aggressive style, and get a few additional practical features.
At the heart sits the latest, more powerful 1,350 cc V-Twin engine, delivering an impressive 190 bhp at 10,000rpm and 145 Nm at 8,000rpm. The motorcycle shares its core architecture with the Super Duke R but the new GT variant also gains several touring-specific features. Including a larger 19.5-litre fuel tank, offering an additional 2 litres of capacity compared to its Super Duke R sibling.
Additionally, top-tier components, including Brembo Stylema brake callipers paired with 320mm discs, and Michelin Power 6 tyres are some of the highlights. The front tyre measures 120/70-ZR17, while the rear comes in at 190/55-ZR17, ensuring excellent grip and handling characteristics. A notable addition to the GT's feature set is a new Comfort mode for the semi-active WP suspension system. This mode softens the ride for more relaxed touring, distinguishing it from its more aggressive siblings. The bike also features a reinforced subframe, specifically designed to better accommodate both luggage and passengers.
The motorcycle retains KTM's signature angular design language, but the new headlight cluster now makes the bike more aggressive-looking than ever. Additionally, various electronic aids have also been added, including lean-sensitive ABS and advanced riding assistance systems. These features are managed through the bike's comprehensive electronics package, ensuring both safety and performance. And lastly, the controls to all these aids can now be accessed from the new 8-inch horizontal instrument cluster which also gets touchscreen capability.
The new 1390 Super Duke GT completes KTM's 1390 lineup, joining the existing Super Duke R, Super Adventure S, and Super Adventure S Evo. Unlike the last two, the new Super Duke GT should offer riders a sport-touring option that doesn't compromise neither on performance nor on comfort.
