This will be the second largest manufacturing plant of its kind in India after Ola Electric’s gigafactory.
Pune-based electric cycle maker, EMotorrad is building the country's world’s biggest integrated electric cycle gigafactory. The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-backed firm will construct this manufacturing plant in four phases. Phase 1 of the construction will start from August onwards, on the outskirts of Pune in Ravet. With this, India will be home to two of the world’s largest gigafactories with the other one already being established by Ola Electric.
Spread across 2,40,000 square feet, EMotorrad’s gigafactory will manufacture components such as batteries, motors, displays, and chargers. The initial capacity of this plant will be 5,00,000 e-cycles annually and subsequent phases will see the expansion of in-house manufacturing capabilities.
