British motorcycle brand Norton takes a major step in its global revival as production of the all-new Atlas begins in India ahead of worldwide launch.

Norton Motorcycles has officially commenced production of its highly anticipated Atlas range of ADV bikes. The first motorcycle rolled off the assembly line at TVS Motor Company's manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The milestone marks Norton’s return to the middleweight adventure motorcycle segment and signals a new chapter in the British marque’s global expansion strategy. The rollout ceremony was attended by Dr. Sutapa Choudhury, British Deputy High Commissioner for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala.

Designed and engineered at Norton’s headquarters in Solihull, UK, the Atlas and Atlas GT have been developed for riders across global markets. At the heart of the Norton Atlas is a newly developed 585 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine featuring a 270-degree crankshaft configuration. The new Norton engine delivers 69 bhp at 9,300 rpm and 57.5 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox and a bi-directional quickshifter.

The Norton ADV bike features a comprehensive electronics package including a Bosch six-axis IMU, cornering rider aids, configurable ride modes, fully adjustable KYB suspension, cruise control, smartphone connectivity and an 8-inch TFT display. While the Norton Atlas is more rugged and tailored for adventure riding with a 19-inch front wheel, the Atlas GT adopts a road-focused setup with 17-inch alloy wheels on either ends.

Speaking on the roll out, K. N Radhakrishnan, Director and CEO, TVS Motor Company, said: “The first Atlas roll-out at Hosur is a proud moment - one that brings together the best of both Norton and TVS Motor Company: British design and engineering capability with Indian manufacturing excellence, and a shared commitment to quality for customers worldwide. Atlas takes Norton into a highly relevant global segment, and it does so as an unmistakable Norton.”

The Norton Atlas range is scheduled for its global debut next month, with customer deliveries expected to begin later in the third quarter of 2026. The model will also be introduced in India through TVS Paddock, the company’s upcoming premium retail network and we expect to it go on sale by August or September, 2026.
