The upgraded van gets a more powerful diesel engine, a more premium cabin, and added safety features.

Force Motors on Wednesday launched the Urbania Deluxe, an upgraded version of its premium shared-mobility van that will now replace the current-generation Urbania as the company's standard offering in the segment. Prices for the new model start at ₹28.7 lakh, ex-showroom.

The Urbania Deluxe is powered by a Mercedes-derived 2.6-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine producing 100 kW (134 hp) and 350 Nm of torque, an increase in output that Force Motors says improves pickup and drivability. The vehicle will be offered across three wheelbases and eight seating layouts, ranging from nine to sixteen seats plus driver, through the company's dealer network in India.

Force Motors first introduced the Urbania in 2021 as India's first ground-up modular monocoque van, a platform the company credits with creating a distinct premium category in shared passenger transport and building a following in export markets. The Urbania Deluxe builds on that base with a reworked cabin, including leatherette seats, matching upholstery, and wood-finish flooring, aimed at bringing car-like comfort to a segment traditionally associated with utilitarian interiors.

Safety additions include three-point seat belts for every passenger, along with driver and co-driver airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, Electronic Stability Programme, ABS, Electronic Brake-force Distribution and Engine Drag Torque Control. A TFT instrument cluster and a 23 cm (nine-inch) touchscreen infotainment system, offering smartphone connectivity, navigation and a reverse camera, round out the technology upgrades. Other additions include 16-inch alloy wheels, a power-operated sliding footstep for easier boarding, an eight-speaker Digital Theatre System audio setup, and USB charging points across all rows.

The vehicle is backed by Force Care, which bundles the company's i-Pulse telematics system with a five-year or five-lakh-kilometre warranty, a three-year warranty on sensors, and three years of roadside assistance.

"With Urbania, we redefined premium shared passenger mobility in India and created an entirely new segment that has found strong acceptance both in India and across international markets," said Prasan Firodia, Managing Director, Force Motors. He added that the Deluxe variant was intended to take the platform "to the next level with enhanced performance, premium features and advanced technology."
