Former JLR Engineering Chief Dr. Nick Rogers is TVS Motor’s Global CTO

Dr. Nick Rogers is a former board member and Engineering Head at Jaguar Land Rover.

Homegrown two- and three-wheeler major TVS Motor is learnt to have got a new engineering chief. Dr. Nick Rogers, a former Board Member and engineering Head at Jaguar Land Rover has joined the Chennai-headquartered firm as President and Global CTO from February 1, according to two industry sources. Prior to joining as a key member of TVS Motor’s leadership team, Dr. Rogers was an advisor to the company for some time.

He was also the Chairman of EVR Motors, an Israeli tech company specialising in advanced high power density motors for electric vehicles. His appointment comes at a time when TVS Motor looks to consolidate its position as an EV OEM too in India, and also tap opportunities overseas. It topped the electric two-wheeler sales chart in 2025, with sales of nearly 3 lakh units.

Notably, Dr. Rogers is the second global industry professional who also held a key position at luxury OEM Jaguar Land Rover to be appointed in a technical leadership role at TVS Motor. He was a Board member and Executive Director - Product Engineering and Research. Dr. Bernhard Heiming, a former Chief Engineer – Electrical and Electronic architecture, Connected Car and Infotainment was appointed as TVS Motor’s CTO in January 2023.

Both Dr. Rogers and Dr. Heiming had stints in other global car companies. The former had a two-year stint in BMW, while the latter served for a longer period in Ford. It’s not clear yet if Dr. Rogers will be the successor to Dr. Heiming, or will both be working together with different set of responsibilities, as TVS Motor’s engineering and R&D activities sphere sees major expansion in India and overseas.

According to an industry source, there may be a few months of transition period in the technology leadership role, and Dr. Rogers may also be responsible for engineering at Norton Motorcycles, and TVS Motor owned European entities – Engines Engineering, Swiss E-Mobility Group.  

There is no official announcement yet regarding Dr. Rogers’ appointment, and the status of Dr. Heiming’s role. When contacted, a TVS Motor official says, “It is currently speculation, and we will let you know if anything changes”.
