Samsung on Monday unveiled its the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which is set to debut in South Korea on October 25. This premium device brings significant improvements to Samsung's flagship foldable lineup.
Breaking previous size constraints, the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition model sports a slim design at just 10.6mm thick and 236 grams, making it 1.5mm thinner and 3 grams lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

The device showcases a distinctive striped pattern backplate using premium metal and glass construction, likely featuring Samsung's signature Armor Aluminum finish. The camera housing has been reimagined with a more rectangular aesthetic.
The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will retail at 2,789,600 won (approximately $2,038) in Samsung's home turf South Korea, with sales beginning October 25. Early buyers receive special discounts on companion devices including the Galaxy Ring and Watch Ultra. Currently, no international launch plans have been announced.
The Special Edition foldable comes with a 200MP main camera. This upgrade upgrade in cameras promise enhanced photo and video capabilities. Performance sees a boost with 16GB of RAM, surpassing the previous 12GB, though storage is limited to a single 512GB configuration.
When unfolded, users will experience a 8-inch display with a 20:18 ratio, the widest in the Z Fold series' history. The cover display measures 6.5 inches with a 21:9 ratio, both dimensions slightly exceeding the standard model's specifications.
The device introduces Wi-Fi 7 capability, leaping ahead of its predecessor's Wi-Fi 6e. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, the phone launches with Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 and carries Samsung's commitment to seven years of updates, extending through 2031. Battery specifications remain consistent with the previous model at 4,400mAh typical capacity.
