Both the GasGas motorcycles will be powered by the 799 cc parallel-twin cylinder engine shared from the KTM 790 Adventure.

Pierre Mobility group-owned GasGas is prepping up for the launch of not just one, but two motorcycles. Recently spotted in Europe, both models will launch as replacement to the GasGas ES700 and SM700, which again were adapted iterations of the KTM 690 Enduro and 690 Supermoto, that the Spanish off-road brand sold a few months ago. Although both bikeswere discontinued to prevent unnecessary competition within the company, the upcoming models will surely revive the same in the future as well, when it launches sometime in 2025 claims reports.

Spy shots of the bikes initially gave us the impression of the CFMoto 800NK, courtesy of the design of the front headlamp. However, upon closer inspection, both bikes boast a completely different design. The design was completely redrawn by KTM’s house and yard design studio Kiska. While it is yet to be confirmed if the CF-Moto-styled headlight will be changed or not, we expect that it will be different as GasGas would not want their bikes to be confused with other products. Aside from that, the ergonomics, seats, and the design of the rear silencer appeared production-ready.

The key differences between both the bikes lie in their purpose. While the Enduro800/ ES800 rides on a 19-/17-inch spoke wheel combination shod with off-road-spec tyres. The SuperMoto800/ SM800 rides on segment-typical 17-/17-inch wheels shod with road-spec sport tyres. Aside from that, the engine frame, WP suspension fork and shock absorber, the brakes, and the swing arm indicate that they have been carried over from the Austrian sister.

Given that these GasGas motorcycles will be based on the KTM 790 Adventure, the parallel-twin 799 cc engine will be carried over. In the KTM, this engine produces 95 bhp and 88 Nm. Whether GasGas carries forward with the same tune or not remains to be seen, but chances of being the same seem high.

Like typical GasGas motorcycles, both will be introduced to cater to a much younger audience, unlike their KTM counterparts. Therefore, they are expected to command a cheaper price compared to the KTM 790 Adventure. Both models will also launch in the European market, followed by the US market, and wouldn’t be making its way to India.
