This beefed up e-scooter would be just the right offering from the brand for Indian conditions
Taiwanese electric two-wheeler giant Gogoro has shown off its brand new e-scooter called the CrossOver. No prizes for guessing the inspiration for the name as it is aimed towards a more rugged and sure footed riding experience.
It is unlike any other Gogoro e-scooter so far, which have been more or less stylish and elegant pieces of mobility. And this sort of stems from the fact that it is built on a brand new robust chassis that adds extra stiffness and rigidity to the e-scooter so that it can take on rougher terrain.
To take on the harsher terrain, the CrossOver will be powered by a 7.6 kW liquid-cooled permanent magnet motor. More details regarding the battery, performance and range capabilities haven’t been shared as yet. However, considering the motor specs, expect it to be pretty peppy. And Gogoro has kitted it with traction control so that you stay in control of the ride always.
The CrossOver is running on telescopic fork/telescopic fork suspension setup with 12-inch rims that are kitted with Maxxis MA-EV dual-purpose tyres. And these will definitely be handy in case you wish to carry more load by utilising its modular platform.
Gogoro had shown intent in making a splash in the Indian market. Its partnership with Hero MotoCorp was announced a couple of years ago but we are still to see the fruits of their labour. Will this be the best bet for the duo? Or will Gogoro be making it down on its own remains to be seen?
