Google is expanding its AI offerings on iOS with a standalone Gemini app, marking a shift from its previous integration within the Google Search app. The new dedicated app has been spotted on the App Store, offering iPhone users direct access to Google's AI capabilities, says a report by 9to5Google.
The standalone app introduces Gemini Live, a voice interaction feature previously unavailable in the Google app version. Users can now engage with Gemini through voice commands while multitasking, thanks to Live Activity support on iOS.

Currently, the app appears to be rolling out in phased manner, with initial availability reported in the Philippines. Users in other regions, including the US, currently see a "not available in your country or region" message when trying to access the App Store listing.
While the existing Gemini integration in the Google app matches the web version's functionality, it lacks the refined user interface seen on Android phones. The new standalone app may facilitate faster updates and feature parity with its Android counterpart.
