Google has officially launched the second generation of its flagship smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 2, in the Indian market. The new Pixel Watch 2 offers more accurate health and fitness tracking features with improved performance and battery life.
Some key highlights of the Pixel Watch 2 include a 1.2-inch always-on AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The watch features a circular design made from 100% recycled aluminium, making it 10% lighter than the previous model. It is powered by a new Qualcomm Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 quad-core processor and Cortex M33 co-processor for smoother performance and longer battery life. Google claims 24 hours of battery life on a single charge for the Watch 2.
In terms of health tracking, the Pixel Watch 2 boasts three new advanced sensors in addition to a SpO2 sensor. An improved optical heart rate sensor can measure heart rate more accurately, especially during high-intensity workouts. The watch also includes skin temperature and electrodermal activity sensors to provide deeper insights into sleep, stress levels and overall wellness.
The watch offers coaching features for fitness enthusiasts for interval training and pace tracking. It is compatible with over 40 workout modes. Safety features like fall detection and emergency SOS are also included.
The Pixel Watch 2 runs the latest Wear OS 4 platform with improvements to notifications, customization and accessibility. It pairs with Pixel and Fitbit apps for the integrated health and fitness features.
The Bluetooth/Wi-Fi variant of the Pixel Watch 2 is available for pre-order in India at a price of ₹39,900 through Flipkart. It will go on sale from October 12th.
