Google's Annual I/O 2024 Developer Conference Date Revealed

Google has revealed that its annual developer conference, Google I/O 2024, will take place on May 14th in California. The Mountain View giant revealed the date for the highly anticipated event by sharing a cryptic puzzle online, as is tradition, before officially confirming the details.

Google I/O 2024 will be held at the Shoreline Amphitheater, the usual location for the in-person event, and will also be live-streamed on Google's YouTube and developer pages. CEO Sundar Pichai is expected to kick off the keynote presentations that will give developers and spectators a first look at new products and updates.

The conference focuses on providing the latest details about Google's software and services. Attendees can expect announcements related to Android 15, Chrome, and core apps like Gmail, Photos and Maps. Google may also demonstrate advances in artificial intelligence and augmented reality, as highlighted in the puzzle clues.

The developers will learn to utilize new capabilities and tools to enhance their applications with over 100 technical sessions, workshops and demos on multiplatform development and how to scale applications in the cloud.

In addition, Google typically uses I/O to preview upcoming hardware releases, as it did at last year's event where it unveiled the Pixel 7a. This year, we expect Google to reveal some details about the Pixel 8a and potential teasers of Pixel 9 and Pixel Fold 2 devices.
