GoPro has announced two new action cameras—the high-end Hero 13 Black and the Hero, a compact camera weighing 86 grams. Both cameras cater to professional creators and casual adventurers; here's everything you need to know about them.
The Hero 13 Black is GoPro's new flagship model. It features impressive video capabilities, including 5.3K recording at 60 frames per second, 4K at 120fps, and 2.7K at 240fps. The camera introduces a new 13x burst slow-motion feature, capturing up to 400 frames per second at 720p resolution. Still photography enthusiasts will appreciate the 27-megapixel sensor with HDR and RAW support.
GoPro has equipped the Hero 13 Black with its latest HyperSmooth 6.0 stabilization technology, ensuring smooth footage in challenging conditions. The camera features a 1.4-inch front-facing LCD screen and a larger 2.27-inch rear touchscreen for easy framing and control. It is waterproof to 10 meters without additional housing.
Connectivity is significantly boosted with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 support for faster transfers. The Hero 13 Black also incorporates GPS functionality for location tagging. It is powered by a new 1,900 mAh Li-ion battery, promising extended shooting times and improved performance in extreme temperatures.
The Hero 13 Black is also compatible with the HB-Series Lenses, allowing users to experiment with different perspectives.
Ultra Wide Lens Mod: Offers an expansive 177° field of view.
Macro Lens Mod: Enables variable focus, allowing subjects to be up to 4 times closer.
Anamorphic Lens Mod: Delivers a 21:9 cinematic aspect ratio.
ND Filter 4-Pack: Includes ND4, ND8, ND16, and ND32 filters for greater exposure control.
GoPro has also introduced the Hero compact action camera. Despite its compact size and lower price point, the Hero doesn't skimp on features. It offers 4K video recording at 30fps, 1080p at 30fps, and slow-motion capabilities at 2.7K/60fps and 1080p/60fps. The camera can also capture 12-megapixel still photos.
The Hero features HyperSmooth stabilization, is waterproof to 5 meters, and weighs just 86 grams, making it GoPro's lightest 4K camera with a screen. It is powered by a built-in 1,255mAh battery.
The GoPro Hero 13 Black costs Rs 44,990, and a Creator Edition bundle is available for Rs 64,990. The Hero 13 accessory bundle, which includes the handler, two batteries, two mounts, a camera case, and a 64GB SanDisk MicroSD card, is priced at Rs 49,990.
The HB-series ultra-wide lens module is priced at Rs 9,990, the macro lens at Rs 12,990, and the ND filter pack at Rs 6,990. The Hero 13 Black will be sold on September 10 across major offline and online outlets. Meanwhile, the Hero will retail for Rs 23,990 and be available from September 22.
GoPro has also introduced a new Magnetic Latch mounting system priced at Rs 2,500 and updated Ball Joint Mounts priced at Rs 4,000 for more versatile camera placement.
