Rockstar Games has confirmed the prices of GTA VI, easily one of the most anticipated games of the past few years. After a delayed release, pre-orders are set to open at 12:00am local time in each country, on June 25. The full game is set to become playable on November 19, though preloads will be allowed starting on November 12.
In India, GTA VI has officially been priced at ₹5,999 for the base game and ₹7,499 for the Ultimate Edition, and it will launch first on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S. Internationally, it is priced at $80 (approximately ₹7,573) for the base game and $100 (approximately ₹9,466) for the Ultimate Edition. There is also no confirmed timeframe yet for the PC port to be released, or for any major update to GTA Online. All pre-orders before November 2026 will include a free Vintage Vice City pack.
Rockstar Games has also confirmed that physical copies of GTA VI will not contain a disc. Only a download code will be included in the box, which means buyers will have to tie them to an account on their gaming service of choice, and will not be able to resell their copies.
The Ultimate Edition will contain exclusive vehicles such as the fictional ‘95 Grotti Cheetah, a Dinka Enduro motorcycle, and Crest kayak. Vehicles also get exclusive mods, and detailed custom interiors. There are also exclusive weapons including matching his-and-hers revolvers with scopes, personalisation options such as clothes, hairstyles, nails and tattoos, and bonuses in each chapter. Buyers also get to visit exclusive establishments such as a tattoo parlour, an off-road mod shop, and even a gang compound. Ultimate Edition owners can also take special commissions to track down and restore abandoned classic cars.
GTA VI takes place in the fictional Vice City and multiple other locations across the US state of Leonida, which satirises Florida. Protagonist couple Jason and Lucia are forced to work together to escape the criminal underworld and pull off their own heists. Releasing 13 years after GTA V, the game has the largest open-world map in series history. While the game will release with a fully fleshed-out single-player mode, it is expected to feature significant live online features such as an evolving map and content. The cost of development has been speculated to have reached $2 billion.
Analytics firm Statista projects that GTA VI will generate over $1 billion in revenue from pre-orders alone, and $3 billion in total in its first year.
