The upcoming AC factory will add 2.5 million units of annual production capacity to the existing 1.5 million units.
Haier Appliances India is investing Rs 1,000 crore in its Noida campus to boost air conditioner (AC) manufacturing capacity to over four million units annually. The company also inaugurated a new Injection Molding facility and broken ground on an AC manufacturing plant which is likely to be completed by next year.
The investment, planned between 2024-2028, will create employment for 3,500 people and significantly contribute to the state's economic growth.
The upcoming AC factory will add 2.5 million units of annual production capacity to the existing 1.5 million units. The new Injection Molding facility will produce key components, enhancing manufacturing efficiency across the company's product categories.
With 90 per cent of its appliances being manufactured locally, Haier's expanded facilities will further reduce import dependency on import while ensuring faster production cycles to meet rising demand in India and neighbouring markets, the company has said.
"The inauguration of the Injection Molding factory and the ground breaking ceremony of the AC manufacturing unit mark another milestone in our journey to truly become a partner in India’s
economic growth. The upcoming AC manufacturing unit will significantly enhance our production capacity to meet the growing local demand while also creating significant job opportunities," NS Satish, President, Haier Appliances India, said in a statement.
The firm's manufacturing in UP began in the year 2019 with the signing of a MoU between Haier India and the state government.
Since 2007, Haier India has been manufacturing appliances locally. The company set up its first manufacturing facility in India in 2007 at Ranjangaon, Pune, Maharashtra.
