Hardeep Singh Brar, Senior Vice President and National Head of Sales & Marketing at Kia India, has stepped down from his role and is expected to join BMW Group India as the Country Head, sources familiar with the matter have confirmed. His last working day at Kia India will be June 30, 2025.

Brar joined Kia India in March 2021 and played a pivotal role in driving the South Korean automaker's growth trajectory in one of the most competitive automotive markets globally. Under his leadership, Kia India witnessed substantial milestones, including becoming the fastest automobile brand in India to surpass the one-million-unit sales mark. His tenure also saw successful model launches that contributed significantly to the brand’s volume and premium positioning.
During this period, Kia expanded its portfolio with key product introductions such as the updated Seltos and Sonet, the three-row Carens, the premium electric vehicle EV6, the new-generation Carnival, and the recently unveiled Syros and Carens Clavis, as well as the flagship EV, the Kia EV9. These launches helped solidify Kia's position as a dynamic and aspirational brand in India’s mass-premium and premium segments.
Brar brings over two decades of experience in the Indian automotive industry, having previously worked with several global OEMs. Prior to Kia, he held a leadership role at Great Wall Motors India, though the brand’s operations did not take off due to geopolitical constraints. His career spans leadership and strategic roles at General Motors, Nissan India, Volkswagen India, and Maruti Suzuki — covering a wide range of responsibilities across sales, marketing, and network development.
His likely move to BMW Group India comes at a time when the German luxury carmaker is looking to consolidate its presence in the premium vehicle segment amid growing competition from rivals such as Mercedes-Benz and Audi. If appointed, Brar would succeed Vikram Pawah, who continues to oversee operations in the broader Asia-Pacific region.
