A Dutch customs shop’s streetfighter modifications make this Harley look sleeker and agile
A Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 has undergone a dramatic transformation at the hands of the Dutch custom motorcycle workshop Powerbrick. The shop's vision for Pan America was to strip away its bulky off-road attachment while retaining the muscular core that makes Harley-Davidsons so iconic. The result is a stunning streetfighter that showcases the potential for a street fighter built on the Pan America platform.
Powerbrick's vision for Harley-Davidson Pan America involved shedding its bulky off-road bits while retaining its muscular core. The most striking change is the removal of the upper fairing and windscreen, which are replaced with a custom bracket that relocates the instrument console and the headlight is lowered down on the front fork. This gives the bike a more aggressive stance. Additionally, the elimination of the upper fairing helps to reduce the visual weight of the motorcycle, making it appear sleeker and more agile.
Powerbrick did away with the bulky plastic cover that covered the tank, opting for a sleek, billet aluminium filler cap instead. This custom touch not only enhances the bike's aesthetics but also eliminates the unsightly welds that were previously exposed by the removal of the cover. The filler cap itself is a work of art, machined from high-quality aluminium and designed to integrate seamlessly with the tank's contours.
At the heart of Harley-Davidson Pan America's performance is its powerful 1250 Revolution Max engine. This liquid-cooled V-twin cranks out a healthy 152 bhp and 173 Nm, delivering smooth power throughout the rev range.
Powerbrick has also paid attention to the chassis. The stock subframe and tail section were replaced with a new, 3D-printed carbon fibre setup that is both lighter and more stylish. This change not only contributes to the bike's relatively slender look but also improves handling by reducing weight.
Harley-Davidson Pan America's adaptive suspension system was another element that Powerbrick decided to retain. This sophisticated system automatically adjusts to provide optimal damping for a variety of riding conditions, ensuring a comfortable and confident ride on any road surface.
Finally, Powerbrick fitted the Harley-Davidson Pan America with a new set of spoke wheels from a Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 Special. These wheels are wrapped in road-biased tyres that offer superior grip and handling on paved surfaces.
"We've designed everything to make it look like a factory streetfighter," said Tim Somers, top boss at Powerbrick. "Harley-Davidson has a rich heritage, and we're just giving it a shake-up to appeal to a new generation of riders."
Powerbrick's Harley-Davidson Pan America makeover has ignited a spark. While Harley was toying with the idea of the Bronx concept naked with the smaller 975 cc mill, this new Powerbrick creation could finally see Harley take the plunge and give us a mean naked with the Pan Am motor. Rewire much? Definitely.
