The X440 is the most affordable Harley-Davidson bike on sale globally.
The Harley-Davidson X440 is off to a flying start. The American brand has announced that it has received 25,597 bookings for its latest offering in the Indian market. Bookings for the Harley-Davidson X440 had commenced on July 4, and bookings were stopped so as deliveries for the first lot could start. The X440 is the first motorcycle created under the partnership of Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp. By manufacturing the motorcycle in India, Hero has been successful in maintaining a competitive price for the X440. It was launched at an introductory price of Rs 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant, but prices were hiked by Rs 10,500 recently.
Speaking on the announcement, Niranjan Gupta, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Hero MotoCorp, said, “What is even more heartening is that the majority of our bookings are coming from the top end model, clearly indicating that customers are willing to pay a higher price for the right brand and right model. This is just the beginning of our journey to win in the premium segment. More Iconic launches will follow soon, as we ensure our presence across the portfolio.“

The Harley-Davidson X440 is a roadster and is powered by an all-new 440cc, single-cylinder engine delivering 25 bhp and 38 Nm of peak torque. In terms of features, the bike gets all-LED lighting and a TFT instrument console. The Harley-Davidson X440 competes with the Triumph Speed 400, Royal Enfield Classic 350, Jawa Forty Two and the Honda CB350
