Hero has patented the design for a new adventure-oriented variant of the Xoom 125 scooter, featuring a front beak, dual-purpose block tyres, a tall windscreen, and an upswept exhaust for light off-roading.
Hero MotoCorp is actively working to diversify its premium scooter portfolio by entering the growing lifestyle and adventure-oriented two-wheeler segments. The Indian manufacturer has officially patented the design for a rugged, off-road biased version of its upcoming Xoom 125 scooter.
According to official design registrations recently published on the intellectual property portal of the Government of India, the new prototype features extensive structural modifications engineered to handle mild trail riding and rough urban terrains.
The design patent reveals a sharp, angular front fascia dominated by an aggressive secondary beak positioned directly beneath the main LED headlamp assembly, mirroring the styling language of larger dual-sport adventure motorcycles. To support regular off-pavement excursions, the scooter drops its traditional city panels in favour of minimalist, scratch-resistant body cladding and a skeletal exposed handlebar setup setup.

The rider cockpit is completed by a tall, tinted aerodynamic windscreen designed to deflect wind blast during high-speed highway commutes, alongside robust plastic handguards mounted to the handlebar ends for hand protection against debris.
The chassis profile features prominent changes to the rolling hardware, showcasing a larger 14-inch front alloy wheel paired with a 12-inch or 14-inch rear wheel setup. These wheels are wrapped in deep-groove, block-pattern dual-purpose tyres that ensure enhanced tractive grip over loose dirt and wet surfaces.
Furthermore, the front telescopic forks are fitted with rubber gaiters to shield the inner suspension tubes from dust accumulation. To protect the vital mechanical components under the floorboard, Hero has integrated a heavy-duty metallic bash plate, which simultaneously aids in increasing the overall ground clearance of the machine.
The underlying mechanical package is expected to be shared with the standard Xoom 125R model. The adventure scooter will likely be driven by a 124.6 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled fuel-injected engine, which pumps out a maximum power output of 9.4 bhp and 10.14 Nm.
The upcoming model will carve out a niche market space, competing directly against rugged urban crossovers like the Aprilia SR 125 Storm and the Yamaha RayZR Street Rally.
