Hero Xoom Gets a Combat Ready Makeover in New Edition
Hero MotoCorp has expanded the Hero Xoom lineup with the introduction of the new Xoom Combat Edition. Priced at ₹ 80,967 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Combat Edition takes the place as the new range-topping variant for the Xoom scooter family. This new variant injects a dose of military-inspired flair into the Xoom lineup. This has been targeted towards a younger audience who appreciates a sportier but a clean look at the same time.
The defining characteristic of the Hero Xoom Combat Edition is its new paint scheme. Ditching the standard colours, the Combat Edition gets a stealthy makeover with a "Matte Shadow Grey'' base coat accented by neon yellow and black graphics. This colour scheme, according to Hero MotoCorp, draws inspiration from the paint jobs of fighter jets, specifically the low-visibility, radar-absorbing coatings used on modern military aircraft. The effect is a primer like colour with a gloss paint on it. It surely looks good with the cuts and crease of the Hero Xoom’s shape.
Besides the new colour scheme, the Hero Xoom Combat Edition inherits all the features of the ZX variant. This means the Combat Edition has a feature list that caters to both style and safety. Highlights are the cornering lights which are something new on a scooter. Additionally, the fully digital instrument cluster offers Bluetooth connectivity, allowing riders to pair their smartphones for call and SMS alerts.
The Hero Xoom Combat Edition retains the 110.9cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that powers the standard Hero Xoom models. It produces a peak power output of 8.2 bhp at 7,250 rpm and 8.7 Nm, offering enough pep for navigating city streets and keeping up with traffic flow. The engine is mated to a CVT automatic transmission.
The Hero Xoom Combat Edition essentially offers a new colour option for the Xoom lineup, bringing the total colour choices to five. Other colour options available for the Hero Xoom include Black, Polster Blue, Pearl Silver White, and Matt Abrax Orange. These colour options vary according to the variants.
