Honda’s BigWing portfolio has grown quite a bit this week with the newest entrant being the CB750 Hornet. The middleweight naked is here to take on the likes of the Kawasaki Z650 and the Triumph Trident 660. Priced at ₹8.60 lakh (ex-showroom Gurugram), the Hornet is on par with the Trident but the Kwacker undercuts both of its rivals by a great amount.
What makes the Hornet so delectable is that Honda has managed to find the right balance of offering a lightweight, reasonably simple, performance naked without compromising on the modernity aspect. No longer does Honda offer the Neo Sports Cafe design theme for its larger nakeds. This new ‘Aggressive X Pure’ design language makes the bike look a lot more striking and contemporary.
Powering the CB750 Hornet is the same 755 cc parallel-twin that you find on the Transalp. With 90.52 bhp and 75 Nm on tap, the Hornet is taking the Trident head on, leaving the Z650 in a trail of dust. The Hornet also benefits from electronic rider aids like riding modes (Sport, Standard, Rain, and User), three-level traction control and emergency stop signal.
The Hornet will be available through all Honda BigWing dealerships with bookings already begun for the naked. Deliveries for the bike, just like the Rebel 500 and the X-ADV, will start from June.
