BigWing is Honda’s premium outlet that also houses the likes of the XL750 Transalp and NX500.

In a bid to make its 200 cc motorcycles feel more premium, Honda has silently decided to sell the CB200X and Hornet 2.0 via its premium BigWing showrooms. Both the bikes will now be sold alongside Honda’s premium bikes which include the NX500, XL750 Transalp, Africa Twin, and the GoldWing, alongside its 300 cc offerings, the CB300R, CB350, and CB300F.

This latest upgrade should not only help the 200 cc duo reach a larger audience but will also help boost sales of Honda BigWing showrooms, which have primarily catered for sales of premium models till now. And as is the case with most premium models in India, they don’t register much sales, compared to mass-centric bikes, like the 200 cc options that Honda recently included. The only other mass-market motorcycles sold at Honda BigWing dealerships are the CB350 range.

Mechanically, both the CB200X and Hornet 2.0 share the same 184.40 cc, single-cylinder engine with the same 17 bhp/ 15.9 Nm output. The engine comes paired with a 5-speed gearbox, with assist and slipper clutch. Both bikes are also built around the same diamond steel frame suspended by USD fork and monoshock suspension. The difference primarily boils down to the way they look, wherein the CB200X gets a proper ADV-styled fairing with a raised handlebar and a tall windscreen. The Hornet 2.0 goes for a proper naked sport look, and the ergonomics have been kept neutral for a comfortable posture.

Despite being sold from a premium outlet, sources from BigWing dealers have confirmed to us that Honda is not offering any special accessory packages or discount offers. Both will continue with the same ex-showroom price of ₹1.48 lakh for the CB200X and ₹1.40 lakh for the Hornet 2.0. Additionally, Honda’s 10-year warranty program will also continue to be available with both bikes.
