Honda's flagship supersport motorcycle makes a comeback in the Indian market with MotoGP-derived technology and premium components from Öhlins and Brembo.
Honda has reintroduced the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade to India in its premium SP specification, carrying a price tag of ₹28.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This marks the return of Honda's flagship supersport motorcycle, which incorporates technology and expertise gained from Honda Racing Corporation's MotoGP involvement. The SP variant represents the most track-focused iteration of the Fireblade lineup, designed for riders seeking ultimate performance credentials.

The motorcycle draws its power from a 999cc liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine that generates 217.5 bhp at 14,000 rpm and delivers 113 Nm at 12,000 rpm. These output figures remain unchanged from the previous model sold in India during 2022. The powertrain connects to a six-speed transmission featuring bidirectional quickshift capability and electronic throttle control. The chassis employs a twin-spar aluminium frame combined with an extended swingarm design inspired by Grand Prix racing machinery. Suspension duties fall to electronically adjustable Öhlins EC 3.0 forks up front and an Öhlins rear shock absorber, whilst stopping power comes from dual 330mm front discs with Brembo Stylema calipers and a 220mm rear disc.

The Fireblade SP competes in India's premium litre-class segment alongside several established rivals. The BMW S 1000 RR ranges from ₹20.75 lakh to ₹25.25 lakh, offering similar performance capabilities at a lower entry price. Kawasaki's 2026 ZX-10R presents the most affordable option at ₹19.49 lakh, undercutting Honda's pricing whilst maintaining competitive track performance. At the segment's premium end, Ducati's Panigale V4 commands between ₹30 lakh and ₹36.50 lakh, justified by its distinctive V4 engine character and Italian heritage. Honda's pricing strategy positions the Fireblade SP between its Japanese competitor and the Italian alternative, representing a ₹5 lakh increase over its previous Indian market pricing.
