Alongside aesthetic updates, which are influenced from Gold Wings of the past, Honda has also introduced some new tech features.
2025 marks 50 years of Honda's flagship touring bike, the Gold Wing. To celebrate this significant milestone, the Japanese bikemaker has introduced the GL1800 Gold Wing range with a slew of updates. Most of the updates are aesthetic in nature, but a bunch of new features have also been added to the mix. Mechanically, the 1,833 cc, flat-six engine has been tinkered with to comply with the latest Euro 5+ emission norms, and yet its 124.7 bhp/ 170 Nm output remains unchanged.
On top of this, Honda has updated the speaker system and standardised wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There’s a new ‘Ducking’ feature now onboard which will lower music on the speakers when riders are conversing with each other over comms. Lastly, the 7-inch TFT display will now also show a special welcome message that says “Since 1975.” Plus, there are two USB C-type ports now on board to keep your electronic devices charged at all times.
Complimenting this round of updates on both the Standard and Tour variants are new colour options. For 2025, Honda has introduced Eternal Gold and Mahogany Brown colour which is directly inspired from the 1988 GL1500 Gold Wing. Along with that, Honda is also offering Bordeaux Red Metallic and Mat Ballistic Black Metallic paint options with unique badging that pays homage to past Gold Wings.
These 50th Anniversary Edition Goldies are not limited edition models, so we can hope that a few keen buyers would get their hands on them in India.Currently, the Honda Gold Wing retails at ₹39.20 lakh (ex-showroom), and given the nature of updates that the 2025 bike debuts with, we expect the asking price will increase by ₹1-2 lakh.
