Prices go up to ₹10.49 lakh for the top-end V(O) Grade variant with ADAS.

Toyota has unveiled the new, refreshed Glanza with a major redesign to its front face along with several updated cabin features, and most notably, ADAS. Most of the updates are in line with what this model’s almost-identical twin, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, debuted when it was refreshed just a few weeks ago. Bookings for the new Glanza open on October 15 for a ₹15,000 fee, with deliveries set for the first week of November.

Toyota Glanza Facelift Price and Variants

Toyota’s variant hierarchy is much the same as before. Starting at the base option, the variants are named E Grade, S Grade, G Grade, V Grade, and V(O) Grade, with only the new top option featuring ADAS.

Ex-showroom pricing begins at ₹6.99 lakhs for the E Grade, up from the previous ₹6.79 lakh starting price and quite a bit higher than the updated Baleno's ₹6.10 lakh base price. The Glanza's price goes up to ₹7.71 lakh for the S Grade, ₹8.73 lakh for G Grade, ₹9.99 lakh for V Grade, and ₹10.49 lakh for the top-end V(O) Grade. Financing options will be available.

The Glanza has a three-years or 1,00,000 km warranty, which can be stretched up to five years and 2,20,000 km. Buyers also get 60-minute express maintenance and 24x7 roadside assistance.

Toyota Glanza Facelift Design

As expected, the front face has had a significant makeover, now with sharper, more prominent lines framing the much larger grille, and redesigned LED projector headlights as well as DRLs. The company says this matches its global design direction. In keeping with teaser images released before the launch, there’s a silver chrome strip running above the grille, and the Toyota badge has moved here, freeing up space for ADAS sensors in the front-centre.

The overall dimensions and profile of the Glanza have not changed significantly. This new car is available in seven colours: Cafe White, Enticing Silver, Gaming Grey, Insta Blue and Sportin Red are the same as before, but there are also new Bluish Black and Digital Teal Green options. The interiors get a dual-tone finish with a leather-wrapped steering wheel depending on trim level.

Toyota Glanza Facelift Interior and Features

On the inside, those buying the premium variants will get plenty of improvements and new comforts including ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charging pad with active cooling, multiple USB ports, automatic climate control, and an upgraded audio system. At the top end, Toyota will offer ADAS, which is an interesting value-add for this car segment. Adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision control, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), and high beam assist are part of the package.

Other features include a tyre pressure monitoring system, head-up display (HUD), a 9-inch central infotainment touchscreen, support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 360-degree cameras, and rear AC vents. The Toyota i-Connect app offers various features including remote access, geofencing, and status monitoring, along with smartwatch connectivity.

Six airbags are standard, and the new Glanza is also equipped with emergency-locking seatbelts, brake assist, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and stability control. The driver gets a height-adjustable seat, and the steering wheel is tilt and telescopic.

Toyota Glanza Facelift Engine and Performance

Just like the Baleno, the Glanza facelift gets an all-new engine. This is a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z-Series petrol unit with auto start-stop delivers 61 kW of power and 112.4 Nm of torque. It replaces the previous version’s 1.2-litre four-cylinder K-Series engine. It’s paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or an AMT, which Toyota calls “Intelligent Gear Shift”, giving buyers a few basic choices.

Toyota will also offer a CNG-powered Glanza alongside the same engine, but tuned to deliver 51.3 kW of power and 101.8 Nm of torque. Interestingly, IGS is also available with this option. With CNG gaining mainstream acceptance, this could be an interesting choice for those who prioritise low running cost.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor claims improved fuel efficiency, at 23.80 kmpl for MT variants and 24.77 kmpl with AMT.

Toyota Glanza Facelift Rivals

The Glanza will of course compete with its badge-engineered counterpart, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. With nearly identical features, the choice will come down to offers, aftersales service, and personal preference for many buyers. There’s also the Tata Altroz and Hyundai i20 in the premium hatchback segment, but buyers who are flexible about body style can also look at several entry-level micro SUVs and subcompact sedans at this price level.
