The Elevate is the company's first foray into the compact SUV segment in India
Honda Car India is all set to launch the Elevate compact SUV in the country in September this year. The company is targeting to announce the price of the car ahead of the festive season. We expect prices to be in the Rs. 11-17 lakh quadrant, but will the Japanese carmaker surprise us with competitive pricing? We certainly hope so.
The Honda Elevate compact SUV is based on the fifth-generation Honda City platform and will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that will be paired with a CVT automatic transmission as also a manual. The 1.5-litre petrol engine makes 119 bhp and develops 145 Nm.
Honda has released the fuel efficiency figures for the Elevate and the one with the CVT returns 16.92 kmpl while the manual gives 15.31 kmpl (both ARAI figures)
The Honda Elevate will come with steel wheels as also alloys. The Alloy wheels are 17 inchers (215/55 R17) while the 16-inchers are steel wheels (215/60 R16)
The Honda Elevate gets a dual-tone theme with soft-touch materials on the dashboard, side panels, as well as on door panels. The 10.25-inch touchscreen is sourced from the Honda City, along with a 7-inch instrument panel, and wireless charger. Moreover, the Honda Elevate also comes with a boot capacity of 458 litres, the largest in the segment.
In terms of safety, the Honda Elevate brings with it Level-2 ADAS, similar to the Honda City, along with 6-airbags, Hill Start Assist, Honda Lane Watch, Rear View Camera with guidelines, and ISOFIX along with a three-point seatbelt for all passengers.
