This new warranty program will cover both new and existing Honda car owners.
Honda Car India has introduced a new extended warranty program offering unlimited kilometre coverage for up to seven years on select models. The warranty program applies to the current models in the brand's lineup which include the Elevate, City, City hybrid, and Amaze. Owners of older models such as the Civic, Jazz, and WR-V who previously enrolled in extended warranty programs are also eligible.
Customers can opt for the seven-year warranty within two years of purchase. Existing customers with four or five-year extended warranties can upgrade to the seven-year plan or choose coverage up to 1.50 lakh kilometres. The warranty covers the repair and replacement of defective parts with no charges for parts or labour. It is transferable to new owners, potentially affecting resale values.
Honda's nationwide service network will support the program, which represents a significant shift in the Indian auto market's warranty offerings. The move comes as automakers compete to offer enhanced ownership experiences in the Indian market. Honda's program notably removes the typical mileage restrictions found in most warranty packages.
