Honda City locks horns against the likes of Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Hyundai Verna.

Honda Cars India has sent out a new Block your Date (BYD) invite dated on 22 May 2026. Although the company is yet to reveal which model(s) will be launched on the given date, we have a strong feeling that it is likely to be the facelifted Honda City. This will be the second update ever since the fifth-gen model was first launched in India back in June 2020.

Honda City Facelift: Updates Expected

As with other Honda updates, we expect the upcoming City facelift to receive subtle visual updates. Test mules of the updated Honda City have already been spotted on more than a couple of occasions in the recent past. Updates are expected to be limited to select design elements, including a refreshed front grille, revised LED lighting signatures, and updated front and rear bumpers.

The side profile is likely to remain largely unchanged, though new alloy wheel designs may be introduced. At the rear, subtle revisions to the tail lamp detailing and bumper design could be part of the facelift. Honda may also add new colour options to enhance the model’s overall appeal.

In terms of features, Honda is likely to equip the City facelift with additions like a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, a digital instrument cluster, and possibly a panoramic sunroof. Other features like the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, auto climate control, and Level 2 ADAS via Honda Sensing that offers features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and automatic emergency braking.

Honda City Facelift: Same Powertrain

Powertrain options are expected to remain unchanged. The Honda City facelift will likely continue with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 119 bhp and 145 Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or CVT gearbox. The strong hybrid e:HEV variant is also expected to carry forward, delivering a combined output of 124 bhp with an e-CVT transmission.
