Honda has been introducing a slew of updates to its portfolio and the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade range is the latest to undergo this transition. First unveiled in Europe and now for the Japanese market, both the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP have been updated for improved performance and handling.
To improve performance, Honda has revised the camshaft valve timing and lift amount, the piston head shape has also been revised for better heat dissipation. As a result, the 999 cc, liquid-cooled, inline-4 engine now produces 215 bhp at 14,000 rpm and 113 Nm at 12,000 rpm. Honda says that mid-range acceleration of the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade has greatly improved with sharper engine response.
The 2024 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP are also the first Honda bikes to get the brand’s new 2-motor throttle-by-wire (TBW) mechanism. This new addition helps “contribute to the enjoyment of riding a motorcycle and a greater sense of security can be felt in a wide range of riding situations,” claims Honda.
In addition to that, Honda has also equipped the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP with a function that displays the recommended preload values for the front and rear suspensions. This recommendation is calculated taking into count the rider’s weight.
The frame body components of the Fireblade have been updated to optimise the weight and rigidity balance. The winglets, and the fairing design have also been redesigned and is now more aerodynamic.
Lastly, the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade is available in a new “Grand Prix Red” colour. While the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP is available with a separate Matte Pearl Morion Black colour too, aside from the red option.

The 2024 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and Fireblade SP have been introduced in Japan only. Only 600 units will be manufactured for its domestic market. The Ceeber was only brought to India on an order basis. Hence, if this model too was to arrive, it would be on similar lines.
