Hyundai India has introduced two new variants to the Exter range: S (O)+ MT and S+ AMT at ₹7.86 lakh and ₹8.44 lakh (ex-showroom, India) respectively. The new manual trim sits between the S (O) and SX trims while the new automatic version sits between the S and S (O) trims in the range. Both variants add an electric sunroof and several additions for the extra money.

The new S (O)+ MT and S+ AMT variants include a digital cluster with colour TFT MID, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear AC vents, all power windows, LED DRLs, front and rear skid plates, headlamp escort function and floor mats.
The new trims also receive 6 airbags, 3-point seatbelts for all seats, day & night IRVM, TPMS, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), burglar alarm, ABS with EBD, impact-sensing auto door unlock, and emergency stop signal (ESS), among others.
Mechanically, the Exter continues to employ the 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine developing 82 bhp and 114 Nm of peak torque, coupled to both a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit. There is also Exter CNG on offer. Hyundai also recently introduced the Knight Edition to the Exter adding an all-black theme to the exterior and interior.
