Hyundai Exter Receives An Entry-Level CNG Variant; Priced At ₹7.51 Lakh

Hyundai India has launched a new base CNG variant of the Exter, called the Hy-CNG Duo EX, at ₹7.51 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This makes it the most affordable CNG model in Hyundai’s lineup currently, making it ₹4,000 cheaper than the Aura E CNG, which costs ₹7.55 lakh (ex-showroom, India). 

For perspective, the Exter EX CNG is ₹1.51 lakh dearer than the Exter EX petrol, priced at ₹6 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The EX CNG variant comes with six airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, central locking, three-point seatbelts with reminders, a 4.2-inch digital display in the instrument cluster, keyless entry, manual AC, front power windows, fabric seats, driver seat height adjustment and LED taillamps. 

However, the Exter EX CNG misses out on electronic stability control, hill start assist, stability control, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, an infotainment system, connected car tech, speakers, sunroof, wireless charger, rear AC vents, rear power windows, electric foldable ORVMs, alloy wheels, reverse camera, and dashcam. 

The Exter EX CNG is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with 82 bhp and 114 Nm in petrol mode and 68 bhp and 95.2 Nm in CNG mode. It only comes with a 5-speed manual transmission. The Exter CNG rivals the Punch CNG which is priced between ₹7.30 - 10 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
