The rise underlines the growing role of CNG in Hyundai's domestic sales mix.

Hyundai Motor India’s CNG portfolio touched a record contribution of 18 percent in the fourth quarter of FY26, helped by wider customer adoption and the company’s entry into the fleet segment, according to its latest investor presentation. The rise marks a steady increase from 13 percent in Q4 FY25 and 16 percent in Q3 FY26, underlining the growing role of CNG in the carmaker’s domestic sales mix.

The company said the quarter was a “standout” one for CNG, with demand supported by buyers looking for lower running costs amid firm fuel prices. Petrol continued to dominate Hyundai’s domestic fuel mix at 63 percent in Q4 FY26, while diesel accounted for 19 percent and electric vehicles 1 percent. For the full year FY26, CNG contributed 16 percent of the domestic mix, up from 13 percent in FY25.

Hyundai also reported its highest-ever quarterly domestic sales in Q4 FY26. Domestic volumes rose 8.5 percent year-on-year to 166,578 units, while total sales grew 8.7 percent to 208,275 units. Exports increased 9.4 percent to 41,697 units during the quarter.

The company’s SUV portfolio remained its mainstay, contributing 64 percent of domestic sales in Q4 FY26 and 68 percent for the full year. However, hatchbacks and sedans also saw improvement in the March quarter, aided by GST-led recovery and product actions.

Looking ahead, Hyundai has guided for 8–10 percent growth in both domestic sales and exports in FY27. The company has also said it will bring two new nameplates in FY27 — an ICE SUV and an electric SUV — as part of its next phase of growth. It plans capital expenditure of about ₹7,500 crore and expects EBITDA margin to remain in the 11–14 percent range.
