The Inster Cross gets many off-road-focussed exterior and interior design elements but no mechanical changes.
Months after the Inster made its global debut, Hyundai India has revealed its off-road-focussed variant called the Inster Cross. The off-roader gets many “outdoor-focussed exterior and interior design elements” but it doesn’t get an all-wheel or four-wheel drive configuration.
The Inster Cross gets a new Amazonas Green Matte along with five other colours – Atlas White, Unbleached Ivory, Aero Silver Matte, Abyss Black Pearl, and Tomboy Khaki. Some of these colours also get a dual-tone finish. The Inster Cross also gets 17-inch alloy wheels but with a chunkier design. That beefed-up design can also be seen on the front bumpers, side skirts and rear bumper.
It retains the same circular headlights and taillights but they both are now mounted in square housings. The front and rear bumpers also get beefed up with more prominent faux skid plates finished in silver, giving it a rugged look. The Inster Cross also gets a functional roof rack to make it more practical.
The cabin hasn’t changed much with the Inster Cross, though it now gets new a grey theme with lime yellow accents as well as lime yellow in the dashboard recess. It will also get the same ADAS suite as the standard Inster.
The Inster Cross is available with the same powertrain as the long-range version of the regular Inster. While Hyundai hasn’t divulged much, it mentioned the Exter Cross will have a range of up to 360 km on a full charge and the battery can be juiced up from 10-80 per cent in around 30 minutes.
