The new Delhi installations form part of the automaker's wider EV strategy, which includes charging infrastructure, dealership training and more.

Hyundai Motor India on Wednesday added 120kW DC fast-charging stations at multiple locations in New Delhi, expanding its public EV charging network, in a bigger push into electric mobility. On World EV Day, the automaker said the new chargers have been installed in partnership with Statiq and can be accessed through the myHyundai app as well as other charging-management platforms.

Hyundai currently has 185 DC fast-charging stations spread across 105 cities and plans to take its proprietary network to 600 stations by 2030.

As part of its World EV Day initiative, Hyundai is offering complimentary charging to its EV customers at its own public charging stations from September 9-September 11, provided the chargers are accessed through the myHyundai app.

The planned expansion will cover key cities, highways and Hyundai dealerships. The company’s DC fast-charging infrastructure currently includes chargers ranging from 60kW to 240kW.

The charging push comes at a time when Hyundai looks to build out the ecosystem around its electric vehicles rather than focus solely on expanding its product range. The automaker currently sells the IONIQ 5 and CRETA Electric in India, while it has also announced plans for a locally manufactured, mass-market electric SUV based on a dedicated EV platform.

Hyundai’s public charging network currently stands at 185 DC fast-charging stations across 105 cities. By 2030, the company intends to more than triple that number to 600 stations.

Its proprietary network is complemented by access to more than 38,000 charging points through the myHyundai app, which aggregates infrastructure from multiple charge point operators. Users can use the platform to find charging locations, navigate to a charger, book a slot in advance and make digital payments. The charging network is also available to EV owners of other brands.

Hyundai plans to train 5,000 people by the end of FY2026-27 and it currently has more than 2,600 dealership personnel trained across relevant EV service functions. The company says it has conducted about 16,000 person-days of EV service training and invested around Rs 2 crore in upgrading its training centres for electric vehicle requirements.

Hyundai also plans to increase its EV-ready sales network to 820 touchpoints and its EV-ready workshop network to 650 facilities by the end of FY2026-27.
