KTM’s most hardcore and off-road focused sub-400 cc motorcycle in India promises to be one helluva of a bike.
The KTM 390 Enduro R has officially arrived in India and was officially showcased in full glory at the India Bike Week 2024. While the bike has just been unveiled the bike, prices will be announced next year by January. The new 390 Enduro R is Austria's most hardcore sub-400 cc offering in the country yet, and it should be quite a sought after.
For starters, the KTM 390 Enduro R is a dedicated bike for off-roading. It comes equipped with top-shelf suspension components, and the 43 mm WP Apex USD fork and mono shock have been employed here, too, like the 390 Adventure S, with the same full adjustability function. The Enduro R has been geared towards off-roading and not versatility, with longer travel.

That sleek body design further enhances its off-road credentials. The tank section is quite slim here, which is a deliberate move for better grip. Speaking of which, KTM has also repositioned the footpegs, which should make it ideal to hit the broken path while standing. Lastly, while the bike showcased here rides on spoke wheels with tube tyres, KTM has confirmed that when it hits production, it will ride on tubeless spoke wheels with Mitas block pattern tyres as standard.
Mechanically, it continues to be powered by the same 399 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which debuted with the third-gen KTM 390 Duke. On the Duke, it puts out 42.9 bhp and 39 Nm. But the official specs on the Enduro R are still under wraps, and it will be announced closer to the launch in 2025.

On the feature front, the KTM 390 Enduro R comes with a narrow 4-inch TFT cluster, which supports Bluetooth connectivity and thereby call/SMS alert, music control, and turn-by-turn navigation. In addition, off-road lean-sensitive ABS, traction control, etc., have also been added to the mix.
With all these credentials, the new KTM 390 Enduro R will definitely be one of the most hardcore bikes in India, not only in KTM’s portfolio but also in the sub-400 cc segment. As for its competition, it has none. Let's pray for a competitive price tag for the Enduro R in 2025, and we wager somewhere around ₹3.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
