Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA) 2024 that is being organised by the International Telecommunication Union for the first time in India as well as the Asia-Pacific as the eighth edition of India Mobile Congress (IMC) kicks off at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Themed "The Future is Now," IMC is expected to highlight the nation's progress in 6G development and showcase a wide range of technological innovations.
The eighth edition of this event will feature demonstrations of 5G applications from leading telecom companies. Attendees can expect to see advancements in Cloud and edge computing, Internet of Things (IoT), semiconductor technology, cybersecurity measures, green tech solutions, satellite communications, and electronics manufacturing.
Alongside the Mobile Congress, PM Modi will also launch the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA) 2024. This marks the first time India has hosted this International Telecommunication Union event, which includes participants from the Asia-Pacific region.
The congress, held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, will run until October 18. Tech giants such as Xiaomi, Qualcomm, and Ericsson will be present, showcasing their latest telecommunications and digital technology offerings. The event promises to foster new partnerships and provide a glimpse into the future of connectivity.
Key figures attending IMC include Communication Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Reliance Jio Chairperson Akash Ambani, Bharti Enterprises Founder Sunil Bharti Mittal, and Aditya Birla Group Chairperson Kumar M Birla.
