The Infinix Note 40 Pro and Note 40 Pro+ feature different battery capacities and charging speeds but are otherwise identical.

Infinix has confirmed that its Note 40 Pro 5G and Note 40 Pro+ 5G, will be launched in India on April 12. The two phones are nearly identical in most ways, with the main differences being their battery capacities and charging technology, allowing buyers to choose what they would like to prioritise. The two phones will be sold on Flipkart as well as other authorised retailers. Infinix promises several unique capabilities and features, some of which will be exclusives in these phones’ price segment.

The Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G features a 5000mAh battery and can be charged at up to 45W, while the Note 40 Pro+ 5G has a smaller 4600mAh battery in order to support much quicker 100W charging. Both models are capable of 20W wireless fast charging and reverse charging at an unspecified speed.

Infinix says it has developed its own “X1 Cheetah” power management chip which ensures safety and power efficiency. Users can choose between multiple charging modes. In Hyper mode, the Note 40 Pro+ can get to a 50 percent charge in 8 minutes, while in Smart mode, it will take 12 minutes but reduce the heat generated. In Low-Temp mode, temperatures will be reduced by up to 10 percent. There’s also a Bypass mode which lets users play games while plugged in to avoid putting any stress on the battery. USB PD 3.0 compatibility means that the Note 40 Pro series can take advantage of any certified USB Type-C charger.

The phones will be available in the solid Obsidian Black and Vintage Green colours as well as a Titan Gold gradient. The Vintage Green option has a vegan leather rear panel and gold accents. They both have an IP53 rating for splash and dust resistance. Moreover, the phone has a magnetic attachment system that allows accessories to be snapped on for charging or reverse charging. Infinix has also teased new Magcase, Magpower power bank, and Magpad wireless charger accessories which will be sold separately.

The Note 40 Pro Series will ship with Infinix’s XOS 14, based on Android 14. The company promises smooth performance with no ads, two years of major updates, and three years of security patches. Infinix says its voice-activated AI Halo Lighting feature is a first for phones in India. LEDs in the camera module on the rear can light up to show notifications, charge status, etc. An AI-powered app that can generate videos and text passages has also been teased.

They feature the same curved-edge 10-bit AMOLED panel with Corning Gorilla Glass for protection against scratches and cracks. Both phones also have a 108-megapixel primary rear camera and a 32-megapixel front camera. They are based on the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 SoC. Prices and exact variants have not yet been announced, but storage will top out at 256GB. You also get stereo speakers, an IR emitter to control appliances with, and NFC.
