The Palo Alto-based company Inflection AI has announced a successful funding round, raising an impressive $1.3 billion. The funding was led by industry giants Microsoft, Reid Hoffman (co-founder of LinkedIn), Bill Gates, Eric Schmidt (former Google CEO) and NVIDIA. This latest investment brings the company's total funding to $1.525 billion.
One of the key projects that will benefit from this funding is the development of Inflection AI's flagship product, Pi. Pi is a personal AI designed to offer users a supportive and informative companion. Through text and voice conversations, Pi provides friendly advice, concise information, and engaging interactions to simplify everyday tasks.
Inflection AI has collaborated with CoreWeave and NVIDIA to build the world's largest AI cluster comprising a staggering 22,000 NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs reaching an impressive 22 exaFLOPS, potentially placing it at the top of the supercomputing world.

Kevin Scott, CTO and EVP of AI at Microsoft highlighted the significance of accessible and easy-to-use AI products and commended Inflection AI for their pioneering efforts. "It is an exciting time, and ambitious AI companies like Inflection AI are pioneering the industry with transformative products that are accessible, easy to use, and show the many possibilities of AI," Scott stated.
The funding round follows Inflection AI's previous successful round in early 2022, where they raised $225 million from renowned investors such as Greylock, Microsoft, Reid Hoffman, Bill Gates, Eric Schmidt, Mike Schroepfer, Demis Hassabis, Will.i.am, Horizons Ventures, and Dragoneer.
Inflection AI is actively deploying a massive AI cluster and plans to further enhance and expand the capabilities of its flagship product, Pi.
Pi is designed to provide users with complete knowledge tailored to their interests and needs, serving as a personal teacher, coach, creative partner, and confidante.
Inflection AI aims to make personal AI available to individuals worldwide, and the company boasts a team of top AI experts from prestigious organizations such as DeepMind, Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, and Meta.
Pi is accessible through various platforms, including the web, mobile (available for iPhone and iPad), WhatsApp, SMS, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger.
