Isuzu D-Max Gains New Cab-Chassis Variant

With the festive season right around the corner, Isuzu India has introduced a new cab-chassis variant for its workhorse pick-up truck, the D-Max. Built around the same tried and tested iGRIP chassis, the new Isuzu D-Max cab-chassis variant has been launched at an attractive price of ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India), and while bookings for the same have commenced already across the country, deliveries will start shortly. 

Mechanically, it continues to be powered by the same 2.5-litre ISUZU 4JA1 diesel engine that already powers the brand’s range of commercial pickups. This mill produces 77.77 bhp and 176 Nm, and it comes paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. In other variants, this mill was already good to carry a payload package up to 1750 kg, and the same capability is expected to carry forward with the new cab-chassis variant as well, if not less.

Besides that new configuration, Isuzu hasn’t tinkered around with the body design of the D-Max. Additionally, some of the noteworthy features that were already available with the other D-Max variant have been retained here as well. Including, the Brake Override System, which cuts the power to the engine during panic braking situations. The cabin continues to get the same height-adjustable driver’s seat, along with that, the analog instrument cluster with the MID (multi-information display) with gear shift indicator, are all the same as it was.
