The concept of the Jaguar GT will be showcased on December 2 at the Miami Art Week.

Jaguar, which has stopped producing cars briefly, is planning to revamp its model lineup to include all-electric. The first model in this new era for Jaguar will be a four-door Grand Tourer (GT) car and it has now been spotted testing for the first time.

The as-of-yet unnamed GT will debut as a concept on December 2, 2024, at the Miami Art Week in the USA. Jaguar will also showcase three more concept cars on the day as a part of its new era of electrification. In the new era, Jaguar plans to migrate from competing with the likes of Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and BMW to becoming a more luxurious brand and an alternative to Maserati, Porsche, or Bentley.

While the car was heavily camouflaged, the shots reveal the new GT will have large proportions. It will get an elongated bonnet, a coupe roofline with a rear-set cabin and a small boot lid. Despite its curvy roofline, the upcoming Jaguar GT will have boxy styling for the lower half, with a very upright nose. It will also ride on large wheels with low-profile tyres. The camouflaged car seems to have a fake grille vent which could mean that Jaguar is either trying harder to hide the design or is hinting at a design cue for the new car. Since this is an EV, it’s highly unlikely it will have a grille and upon closer inspection, it looks like the charging port for the upcoming car is housed in the front.

The new GT will not have a grille up front but is likley to have a charging port there.

The new Jaguar GT will be based on the brand’s new Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA). Other technical specifications still remain under wraps but reports suggest this will have a range of around 700 km and an output of approximately 575 bhp.

In the United Kingdom, the Jaguar GT is expected to be priced north of £100,000 (roughly ₹1 crore) and rival the likes of the Porsche Taycan. As of now, Jaguar hasn’t announced any intentions to bring this to India but given that Tata Motors owns the brand, the new electric GT from Jaguar could potentially make its way to India in a few years.
