Jaguar Type 01 Interior With ‘Signature Art’ Revealed Ahead of October 6 Launch

Jaguar Land Rover has published an early look at the interior of the upcoming Jaguar Type 01, showing a dramatic departure from the brand’s previous look and feel. In its all-new incarnation, the Jaguar brand now stands for modernist high-end experiences, with luxurious materials and seamlessly integrated technology. The company promises a beautiful yet dramatic interior with distinct spaces for four occupants. The Type 01 is an evolution of the Type 00 Concept.

A prominent central “spine” with a brass-like finish running through the whole cabin creates separation and accents the car’s length. Unlike the bold horizontal lines on its exterior, Jaguar designers have chosen to emphasise the longitudinal expanse of the interior. A low seating position for the driver is intended to be “confidence-inspiring”.

The colour palette for the interior takes its cues from travertine stone and artisanal textiles and unexpected flashes of colour. The same brass-like finish can be seen above the doors. The Jaguar “leaper” logo has been integrated into this pattern. Storage compartments are concealed until needed.

A slim dashboard is visually integrated with the Type 01’s bonnet, harmonising the car’s inside and outside. There’s a digital rear-view display at the base of the windscreen, at the same height as the door mirrors.

Additional details about the car’s features, performance and design will be announced closer to its launch on October 6. A prototype unit with a distinctive wrap concealing its exterior will be displayed at the Monterey Car Week in California this week, with a showcase scheduled for August 16.
