Jeep India has introduced a new special edition of its popular SUV, the Meridian X, designed to excel both on rugged terrains and in urban environments. Priced at ₹29.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the Meridian X positions itself between the Meridian Limited (O) and Meridian Overland variants. Jeep says this new edition has unique styling elements and custom upgrades that set it apart in the competitive D-SUV segment.
The exterior of the Meridian X is enhanced with body-coloured lowers, a grey roof, and alloy wheels featuring grey pockets. Inside, the Meridian X offers a range of features such as side moulding, puddle lamps, programmable ambient lighting, sunshades, an air purifier, a dash cam, premium carpet mats, and an optional rear seat entertainment package.
Kumar Priyesh, Brand Director of Jeep India, emphasised the dual nature of the Meridian X, stating, “With an array of accessories, we have amped the Meridian's dual characteristics, catering to the adventurous spirit and refined tastes of our diverse clientele. Whether navigating challenging trails or cruising cityscapes, this edition promises to captivate enthusiasts seeking sophistication, performance, and unmatched capability.”
Under the hood, the Meridian X continues employing the same 2.0-litre, turbo diesel engine that develops 168 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque, coupled to a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic gearbox. It catapults the Meridian from 0 to 100 kmph in 10.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 198 kmph.
