MG Motor India, under the JSW Group, has announced a price hike across its vehicle lineup, which will come into effect starting January 1, 2025. The increase, set at up to 3 per cent, has been attributed to rising input costs and external economic pressures. This adjustment will affect all seven existing models in MG’s portfolio, along with future launches.

Satinder Bajwa Singh, Chief Commercial Officer, JSW MG Motor India Pvt Ltd said, “Our dedication to quality, innovation, and sustainability remains a priority and drives us to improve our offerings continuously. In doing so, minor price adjustments are inevitable to offset the rising input costs. While we try to minimise its impact on our customers, a marginal price increase shields us from inflationary challenges.”
The price revision aligns with a trend seen across the automotive industry, where manufacturers are facing higher costs due to factors such as global supply chain disruptions, inflation, and increased raw material expenses The price hike will apply to all of MG Motor’s current models, which include the Comet EV, the Astor, the Windsor EV, the Hector and Hector Plus, the ZS EV and the Gloster. The increase is expected to marginally affect affordability across the lineup.

In addition to the existing models, MG Motor is set to introduce the Cyberster, an all-electric two-door roadster, in January 2025. The Cyberster will debut under MG’s new ‘MG Select’ sub-brand, marking a fresh direction for the automaker in India. The Cyberster is expected to target niche buyers with its sporty design and electric performance, potentially setting a benchmark for electric roadsters in the market.
