The ZX-4RR is among the most celebrated sub-500 cc sports bikes on sale globally.
Kawasaki has teased on its social media account the arrival of a new limited edition bike in the RR family. The picture used in the teaser is that of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR. Kawasaki already has the Ninja ZX-4R on sale in India at a whopping price tag of ₹ 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom), thereby making it the most expensive sub-500 cc bike on sale in India. The above teaser signals the fact that the top-spec Ninja ZX-4RR is heading our way.
The extra R brings with a host of goodies such as preload adjustable Showa SFF-BP USD fork and sporty Showa BFRC monoshock along with a bi-directional quickshifter. These updates make the Ninja ZX-4RR a more potent machine on the race track. Visually and mechanically, the new bike is similar to the Ninja ZX-4R already on sale barring for the KRT livery.
What makes the Ninja so special is its heart. The bike is powered by a 399 cc, inline-four cylinder engine churning out 76 bhp and 37 Nm of torque. But the party trick is the 14,000 rpm redline that makes this bike stand out from its competitors. In fact the power figure of the Ninja ZX-4RR is on par with higher displacement bikes such as the Honda CBR650R and the Triumph Trident.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR is expected to make its India debut in a couple of months and will be brought via the CBU route from Thailand. We expect the new Kawasaki bike to be priced around Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom), given its pricing and positioning, the Ninja ZX-4RR doesn’t have a direct rival.
