Aside from the price revision, Kawasaki has also introduced new colour schemes and variants.
After its debut at the India Bike Week, Kawasaki has launched the 2024 iteration of its entry-level retro model, the W175. Kawasaki will retail both the 2024 and 2023 iterations, the latter till stocks last, and the ex-showroom price of the latter has also been reduced. The 2023 W175 is now priced at Rs 1.22 lakh in its Ebony shade, followed by the 2023 W175 in Candy Persimmon Red priced at Rs 1.24 lakh (both ex-showroom, Delhi).
For 2024, Kawasaki has introduced the W175 with two new colour options, namely, Metallic Graphite Gray and Metallic Ocean Blue. The former is available with the Standard variant priced at Rs 1.29 lakh and the latter is available with the Special Edition variant priced at Rs 1.31 lakh (both ex-showroom, Delhi).
Moreover, Kawasaki has also introduced the new W175 Street model, which is basically the W175 with alloy wheels, thereby the bike now also gets tubeless tyres. Aside from that, it also debuts two new colour options, namely, Metallic Moondust Gray and Candy Emerald Green. Irrespective of these colour options, the W175 Street is priced at Rs 1.35 lakh.
Mechanically, the W175 continues to be powered by the same 177cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 12.8bhp and 13.2Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The bike is built around a cradle frame with telescopic forks and dual spring suspensions. Braking duties are taken care of by a 270mm disc brake for the front wheel and the rear wheel gets drum brake. Single-channel ABS is available as standard.
Pricing-wise, the Kawasaki W175 competes against the likes of the Yamaha FZ-X (starting ex-showroom price - Rs 1.17 Lakh), the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 (starting ex-showroom price - Rs 1.50 lakh) and the TVS Ronin (starting ex-showroom price - Rs 1.49 lakh).
