Besides that aesthetic upgrade, the bike has remained relatively the same.
Kawasaki has introduced the 2025 iteration of its retro motorcycle, the W800, in Indonesia. The updated model has been launched in the South-East Asian market with a new colour option. Beyond that, the W800 continues as it is.
The new colour option that Kawasaki has introduced with the 2025 W800 is called Metallic Diablo Black colour. This new paint option has a distinct yet subtle dual-tone effect, and with neatly executed gold pinstripes around the tank section, gives this authentic retro appeal which has become synonymous with the Kawasaki W series bikes.
Besides this new addition, the 2025 Kawasaki W800 will continue unchanged. Therefore, it will be powered by the same 773 cc, air-cooled, parallel-twin engine that is good for 52 bhp and 62.9 Nm, peak power/torque output. This SOHC, eight-valve mill gets a 360-degree crank, which helps generate that authentic low-end grumble that one identifies with any retro motorcycle. The engine will continue to be nestled inside the double-cradle frame that is suspended by a telescopic fork at the front and dual-shock absorbers at the rear. It rides on a 19-/18-inch wheel combo, and the tyres shod on them are tube units, rather than tubeless.
Kawasaki used to retail the W800 in India back in 2020. However, limited sales and a lack of interest in the product forced Kawasaki to withdraw the retro bike from our market. However, there have been speculations that Kawasaki is planning to launch a retro bike in India this year, will it be the new W800 or not that remains to be seen.
