The Kia Carens is among the few cars on sale in India to be offered with three different powerplants.
Kia India has announced that the Carens range has crossed the 3 lakh cumulative sales milestone in the Indian market. Since its launch, the Kia Carens has established itself as one of the brand's best-selling models, thanks to its combination of practicality, premium features, and multiple seating configurations.
Over the years, Kia has continuously updated the Carens and has introduced improvements in safety, comfort, technology and convenience. Building on the success of the Carens, Kia expanded the range with the Carens Clavis and the Carens Clavis EV. While the Clavis offers a more premium take with upgraded styling, technology and safety features, the Kia Clavis EV brings an all-electric option to the MPV segment.
Commenting on the achievement, Sunhack Park, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said, "The 3 lakh sales milestone for the Carens underscores its position as a segment leader and a game changer in the MPV space. This achievement reflects our product-led strategy, understanding of customer needs and focus on quality. We remain committed to building on this momentum as we continue to grow our presence in India."
According to Kia, customer preferences have shifted towards higher-spec variants equipped with advanced safety features, connected car technology, and premium comfort features. The company says 18 per cent of total Carens sales come from top-end trims, indicating strong demand for feature-rich models. Kia also shared the powertrain-wise sales mix of the Carens family. Petrol variants account for 60 per cent of cumulative sales, followed by diesel models at 30 per cent, while the Carens Clavis EV contributes 10 per cent.
The Kia Carens Clavis EV is available with two battery pack options. The larger 51.4 kWh battery offers a claimed driving range of up to 490 km, while the 42 kWh battery delivers a claimed range of 404 km. Power comes from either a 99 kW or 126 kW electric motor, both producing 255 Nm of torque. The electric MPV also supports DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in just 39 minutes under compatible charging conditions. The electric MPV is offered both in 6-seater and 7-seater configurations.
