Kia India is gearing up to launch a new model in India very soon, which is likely to be called the Clavis. The new SUV is expected to be slotted between the Sonet and Seltos in Kia India’s lineup. While the launch is still some time away, new spy shots of the SUV have emerged that hint at a few interesting details.
The Clavis is also likely to get a diesel engine, much like the other models in the brand’s line-up in India. The test mule was spotted at a fuel pump where it could be seen refuelled with diesel. Expect the Clavis to sport the same 1.5-litre diesel engine as the Sonet, Seltos and Carens. It is also likely to get a petrol and a turbo-petrol engine.
The new spy shots also show a part of the interior of the Clavis. The new SUV will have a different steering wheel compared to the existing models in the lineup. The new two-spoke steering wheel is the same one seen in many new Kia models globally, like the upcoming EV9. The images also reveal that the infotainment system will get a rotary knob for the volume control as well as physical buttons for other control in the infotainment system. Furthermore, the Clavis will also get a single binnacle for the touchscreen and the virtual instrument cluster as well as a panoramic sunroof.
The Kia Clavis is expected to launch in India sometime in 2025. It is likely to be priced between ₹11 - 17 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It is expected to rival the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and more.
