Kia India has received more than 20,000 bookings for its latest subcompact SUV, the Syros, in less than 2 months of bookings opening on January 3. The Syros is priced between ₹9-17 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
The variants of the Syros with the turbo-petrol engine account for 67 per cent of the total bookings, with the diesel accounting for the rest. 46 pet cent and 38 per cent of the buyers chose the top-spec and automatic variants, respectively.
Kia India has also announced the colour preference for the Syros. Glacier White Pearl has the highest demand, with 32 per cent of the total bookings. The next two colours with the highest demand are Aurora Black Pearl and Frost Blue with 26 and 20 per cent bookings.
The Sryos was launched in India on February 1, 2025, and it is the brand's second subcompact SUV after the Sonet. The focus of the Syros is more for the rear seat passengers as it gets rear seat ventilation with sliding and reclining functions. It also gets a triple-screen layout spanning 30 inches with two 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and driver’s display and a 5-inch screen to control the HVAC.
Rivals of the Syros include the Skoda Kylaq, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Hyundai Venue and Kia’s own Sonet.
