New Patent plans to make the electric moped more purposeful

Kinetic is expanding the E Luna lineup with a new variant designed for carrying larger loads. The company has patented a new design for the recently launched electric moped.

E

This new patented model boasts a redesigned rear section featuring a large luggage carrier basket, replacing the standard pillion seat. The design is similar to the existing Kinetic E Luna, but with a focus on functionality.

Kinetic currently offers the E Luna with 1.7kWh and 2kWh battery options. The 3kWh battery pack, while not yet available, could be introduced with this new variant. The larger battery capacity makes sense for a more utilitarian model designed for carrying heavier loads and offer higher range.

E

The E Luna has been marketed for its durability and load-bearing capacity, with a standard payload of 150kg. This new variant is expected to comfortably exceed that capacity, making it ideal for commercial applications.

E

There's also a possibility that the luggage carrier basket might be offered as an optional add-on for the existing Kinetic E Luna variants in the future. The luggage carrier basket design is reminiscent of the popular TVS XL 100 moped, which is also set to get an electric makeover soon. E

Kinetic is known for its focus on affordability, and this new variant is expected to be priced similarly to the existing E Luna models (ranging from ₹ 69,990 to ₹ 74,990). This aligns with Kinetic's strategy of making electric mobility accessible to a wider range of customers in India.
