New Patent plans to make the electric moped more purposeful
Kinetic is expanding the E Luna lineup with a new variant designed for carrying larger loads. The company has patented a new design for the recently launched electric moped.
This new patented model boasts a redesigned rear section featuring a large luggage carrier basket, replacing the standard pillion seat. The design is similar to the existing Kinetic E Luna, but with a focus on functionality.
Kinetic currently offers the E Luna with 1.7kWh and 2kWh battery options. The 3kWh battery pack, while not yet available, could be introduced with this new variant. The larger battery capacity makes sense for a more utilitarian model designed for carrying heavier loads and offer higher range.
The E Luna has been marketed for its durability and load-bearing capacity, with a standard payload of 150kg. This new variant is expected to comfortably exceed that capacity, making it ideal for commercial applications.
There's also a possibility that the luggage carrier basket might be offered as an optional add-on for the existing Kinetic E Luna variants in the future. The luggage carrier basket design is reminiscent of the popular TVS XL 100 moped, which is also set to get an electric makeover soon. Kinetic is known for its focus on affordability, and this new variant is expected to be priced similarly to the existing E Luna models (ranging from ₹ 69,990 to ₹ 74,990). This aligns with Kinetic's strategy of making electric mobility accessible to a wider range of customers in India.
